Thanksgiving should be celebrated every day
By writin4alivin, Wednesday, November 24, 2010, 1 commentsHow many times in the past week have you been asked, "What are you thankful for?"
So often, we're only reminded during the Thanksgiving holidays to stop and reflect on the many things we have to be thankful for, and then we tuck our gratitude away for another year. I know I'm guilty. Vary rarely do I pause and truly appreciate the way God has blessed me -- except at Thanksgiving. It's not that I'm not thankful or never think about it the other 364 days of the year, but I guess I need a national holiday to really focus my attention once again on priorities: a loving God who wants me to have a personal relationship with him, a healthy family and an opportunity to provide for life's necessities and even a little more.
Many of my friends began at the first of this month posting daily on Facebook one thing they could be thankful for. Their comments have been an inspiration and a realization that a season of giving thanks is one that should not be defined by a calendar, but instead celebrated each and every day for a lifetime.

You said it all, and I echo your sentiments. Happy Thanksgiving, and may we each live in it.
