Worth Thinking About
By msdenak, Thursday, February 9, 2012Hey... I'm back with a new list of annoying pet peeves, so let's just get right to it!! How about...
Friends who call you up and then complain the entire conversation. Yes, we all have one or two who have this habit of going way beyond venting, and into being completely obnoxious and looking for sympathy for the same thing over and over. Example: I don't need to hear about something that upset or hurt or happened to you for the next six weeks after the event is over and you never have a workable solution to your problems. Besides this, you are not willing to even listen to anything constructive without becoming offended. I want to be your friend and be supportive but pluzzeeze!

- Friends who use you as a "dart board". These are those people in our lives who come bearing rotten fruit, and hide behind smiling faces when they really can't stand us. They use ambiguous conversation and they hurl darts under the disguise of referring to someone else. Here's a for instance: Frenemy says: "You know I don't think it matters how much you spend on buying a dress, but it's how good the dress looks on you that counts. A cheaper dress might even look better than an expensive one". Didn't she just tell you about her new designer dress she bought a couple of weeks ago, but now since you are planning to purchase one she gets a new idea on the subject.
- Friends who dominate the conversation talking about themselves and then remember you as an afterthought. These friends or aquaintences or even family members will call you every week going on for an hour or more about all that has happened to them since your last conversation, and then just before they run out of steam, they ask " so what's going on with you?"
- Anybody who refers to something wonderful or benevolent that has happened as a "blessing in disguise". Tell me, why do blessings wear disguises? Are they not supposed to be recognized? Anyone who truly understand how God blesses us, or how others bless us knows these blessings do not hide behind disguises.
Thanks again for coming along! You're the best!
