(or as “The Artist Ginnie” would put it...Blossoming)
“A free heart is a heart delivered from the gusts and storms of the affections and passions; the assailing touch of grief, wrath, hatred, fear, inequality of love, trouble of joy, pain of sorrow fall away from the equal heart, and leave it a thing large, calm, equal, luminous, divine.- Sri Aurobindo
I wish it was different, not so cliche but a series of men, not a queue the length of pre-sale tickets to a U2 concert number but 2 or 3 imparted some truths into my existence that fortunately, I could receive. The gift of maturity is that I was ready to listen and the gift of them is that they brought me back to my brilliance in varying ways. As vehicles for evolution perhaps? What brilliance you may scoff, or was that my ego?
Well, the brilliance of strengths taken for granted, like my poetry, multimedia art, perception, dedication to learning or the fact that in secret I’m actually a really amazing vegetarian chef with a slight cookbook addiction! Guess that freshly ground curry powder’s out the bag.
We learn in such amazing ways, through tears, trying to have shared experiences with others, laughter, walks, listening and by making love. We also learn when we are surrounded by people who reflect what we secretly think of ourselves in more negative ways like, not appreciating everything we are and can be. I’m humble enough to receive a good “talking to” when one is in order and the topic of today was “Brilliant Love.”
As an artist, I see the world in full color, I’m down for adventure and the first to pack a bag to just get up and go. I’ve had some amazing experiences due to that aspect of my nature but I’ve also lost a lot that wasn’t mind to keep in many ways. As, what I think is possible is someone else’s impossible- until I do it.To me “Brilliant Love” is fearlessly acting authentically from your core, struggling and knowing you could face certain rejection, in a bold epic fail fashion. Face it and live to tell, I have. From taking a prom picture where my slip was showing, all the while thinking “I think this looks good- right?,” to falling flat on my face at my high school graduation- it’s all a part of the journey.
Yet and still, I believe and practice daily- Brilliant Love. Care to join me?

Your message ~ tendering and touching. Learning from it all.
Falling flat on your face at your HS graduation? Mortifying and/or hilarious at the moment ~ but so memorable! I remember pretty much nothing from my own graduation. So, Kudos!
thank you for your musing, deep swirling, and sharing ~
