Biography

Hi, I like to think I'm ordinarily extraordinary. I've lived in Memphis all my life. Before my father died, my parents had been married for almost 30 years. I have three older brothers and no sister. So yeah, that makes me the baby and the only girl. Original! I got the separate bedroom, no hand me downs, and yep, I was a Daddy's girl. After high school I went straight into the work force to support my ministry. I loved to write, but life pushed it out of the way until I started having health problems. I found myself needing to express myself or go crazy trying. It started with me writing cryptic messages in my journal so no one would find it and really know what I was going though. Flashbacks of my brother Herman stealing my diary had made me slightly paranoid. It progressed from there to poetry, then short stories, to finally screenplays and novellas. I have had limited success, albeit not financial, but I am thrilled just the same! I get so excited knowing that this is my work, my words, and my creation. Sometimes, I go into a bookstore to peruse. I run my fingers over handsome books that I know I can't afford or am not really interested in buying. It's just knowing that these are books and words from intelligent people who took the time to write them down. It's knowing that they will affect somebody in some way like Charles Dickens affected me with Pip or Langston Hughes moved me with jive. I love it and always will.
