I do not allow “grown ups” on my Facebook page. I might have mentioned that before. My aunt is taking it personally as an ageist decision. It’s not. “Grown ups” are members of my family who I don’t feel need to see some of the day to day stuff that goes on in my life. It’s hard enough to go to a family gathering when I’m not sure how my son is going to react to sharing space with other people; I don’t need to walk in with the gossip about my latest hair color or tattoo having gone before me.
Conversely, there are things about “grown ups” that I don’t need to know for similar reasons. Take, for example, my brother-in-law’s status “Michael Jackson was a freak. Can’t say I’ll miss him.”
I am watching CNN for more information about Iran while nursing a sinus headache. (There's a dry front coming in.) One of the commercials that came on reminded me of the election commercials with bits about the Iranian election. I wish I could find the commercial to link but I can't.
The commercial is for a group called United Against Nuclear Iran. You can find a couple still shots of the commercial on the site. The thing that pissed me off is the way they're acting like the Iranian election happened, everyone just sat back and accepted the results. Ummmmmmmmmmm. Am I the only one watching CNN? I have a friend who works there who is sick of it because it's being covered so extensively.
I am still processing my thoughts about the ad. I truly thought it was a very early start for the 2012 elections from the Republicans. Start laying the foundation of how awful Obama is. Then I wondered if I was watching Fox News.
My coffee is here and my head hurts with the increasing questions. Stupidity does that to me.
Enjoy!

I have to do a dreaded chore today. Go to Hallmark and read through oceans of warm hearted sentiments for a Father’s Day card.
I love Hallmark stores. My husband hates that I love Hallmark stores because I have a corner in our bonus room, affectionately known as the grotto, dedicated to scrapbooking endeavors including card making. He loves when I turn the small bits of plastic, a few tiny flowers, and some ribbon into a card for one of the kids’ friends birthday parties. That’s fine for people we don’t know well, but to go to a Hallmark store and wander aimlessly, picking up cards with a funny picture or some sentiment that draws your eye for true loved ones, well you could spend hours. The silly ones remind me of my college room mate, a “you’ve always been there” for me can easily draw a tear thinking about my sister, and even cards that aren’t applicable anymore like bridal shower sentiments flash me back to my younger, innocent days. (Shut up, yes I had innocent days!)
That, however, is not the case with my dad.
