I would believe only in a God that knows how to dance. ~Friedrich Nietzsche
Biography
Okay I confess! I *hate* this part. Whether it's for MySpace or Tribe or worse- a job interview, the open-ended request to talk about myself is painful - like a needle to the eye. Or like a 103 foot drop on a roller coaster. My advice: Read my blogs! You'll get to know me that way...eventually....
But I will tell you this: I'm a California native and I've discovered being from the West Coast informs most of my perspectives on life. Oh- and I'm a writer. And If you haven't seen my signature, I'm a dancer, too.
And as a dancer what couldn't I live without? That's easy. Music! For two years I had a world music radio show called "Nomadic Lounge." I shared music from West to East and everywhere in between. I look forward to sharing music recommendations with you.
Live music is best but it saddens me that I don't get to enjoy much of it in these parts. The smoke. I'm allergic to it and well, it's just really bad for you! Bad for the employees. Bad for any living thing. Bad. Bad. Bad!
Okay, if you're still reading after my smoke rant (thank you I love you!) I'll tell you something else. I studied cultural anthropology. The official title of my degree is "Anthropology of Expressive Culture." Pretty cool, huh? Oh- what exactly is that you ask? It's the study of culture through it's expressive forms like dance and music.
But, no, I don't Irish dance. (Most people ask based upon my last name.) Not any longer anyway. It's a foot thing. All that jumping stopped working for my right foot. But I still love the music. And every once in a while I'll do some 3's and 7's and throw in a rise and grind or two. Even that little bit is a lot of fun.
But for the most part now, I belly dance...More about that in da blog. See you there. :)
