Goodbye, skirt! Jacksonville
By Tracy Jones, Thursday, August 11, 2011, 1 commentsI have some bittersweet news to report — I am no longer editor of skirt! Jacksonville and skirtjacksonville.com.
Don't be sad. I've been lucky enough to have an amazing opportunity come my way. I will now be a special projects reporter for The Florida Times-Union. What does that mean exactly? Well, along with another reporter, we will be working on long-term projects for jacksonville.com, as well as for the paper. Our first assignment is preparing the online presentation for the upcoming 10th anniversary of Sept. 11. Wish us luck.
I was the skirt! editor for more than a year, and in this job, I've spoken to hundreds of women — many times being able to go to their homes so they could share their stories with me. I've written about everything from food addiction to fibromyalgia, and have met some amazing Jacksonville-women along the way.
The pinnacle of my skirt! experience was certainly at the skirt conference in June. I got to meet some amazing bloggers, authors and women passionate about their craft.
Good news is, I'll still be working in Jacksonville and at the Times-Union. You can still follow @skirtjax for updates, but that will no longer be me. To follow me, become my friend on facebook: facebook.com/tracyj1 or on twitter @TUTracyJ.
I look forward to keeping in touch.
