About Me

Kids: No kids

Political Leaning: Liberal

Name: Toni

Occupation: Museum Educator

Education: B.A. in Political Science, M.A. in Women's Studies

Relationship Status: Committed Relationship

More about Me: I am a citizen of Canada and the USA, I didn't get my driver's license until this year, and I made up my name on the first day of 8th grade at a new school. Regretfully, it stuck.

Favorite Music: 90s music: R&B, alt rock, and pop, from Boys II Men to Fiona Apple. I also love Ingrid Michaelson, John Mayer, Sia, Sam Cooke...and Britney Spears.

Favorite Books and Writers: I like classic children's literature, feminist theory, British murder mysteries, and interior design books but my favorites don't all fit into these categories. They include Wuthering Heights, Heidi, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Mother of Pearl, and A Confederacy of Dunces, to name a few.

I can't live without: massages, the internet, and pasta.

I am most proud of: graduating with my Master's degree.

I am most guilty of: letting stress dominate my mood.

Words I live by: Be vulnerable. Admit to flaws, insecurities, and weaknesses, but don’t get so comfortable with them that they can't be changed.

The world would be a better place, if only: people felt more compassion and empathy toward others--and acknowledged their own privileges.

Interests: I'm a homebody who daydreams about travel, a vegetarian who loves to cook and eat, and a feminist who is drawn to fashion and beauty. I spend a lot of time goofing off with my beloved DSLR camera and spoiling my Chihuahua, Herman.

Profession: Museum Educator

Slogan: I still only travel by foot, and by foot it's a slow climb.

About Me: After moving often as a child, I've lived in Florida for over a decade and I am fully appreciative of the warm climate. After getting an interdisciplinary liberal artsy graduate degree this year, I started working as a museum educator after months of job hunting. Currently in my mid-20s, I consider this to be a challenging but transformative age and I feel like I'm learning more about life every day. Some of my personal goals include exercising more often (or ever), making art, volunteering, and reading books for pleasure again.
