2 + 2 is on my mind

There are so many things to figure out, I can hardly identify a beginning point. Did you have a miserable childhood? O, what  relief--I did too. You say your mom died before you reached puberty? Um hum. Got that. Your sister died in early middle-age, the one you meant to live with into your old age, to walk around the town with, holding hands and speaking cheerfully to strangers? Yeah, I hear you. Father and step-mother abandoned you when you reached eighteen (making your child negative-two-months, but still an entitity to be reckoned with)? Um, yes. Okay, so you can join my community, be one of the young women who got old. Upon turning 50, one of my old girlfriends (now a stranger) said that 50 was the age upon which a woman became invisible. I so disagree. I couldn't disagree more. It pains me that women bicker over irrelevant issues. It diminishes all of us. But if you've endured a beating in childhood, ill-treatment at the hands of teachers and spiritual leaders, or invisibility due to the progression of natural law, well, I can assure you, you're one of a multitude.
