Exercising Today was MISERABLE!
By tequilakatrina, Wednesday, July 21, 2010, 2 commentsIt is so dang hot in Texas! If I don't get outside for my runs by 7am, FORGET IT!!! I will over-heat and be a miserable, pissed off, over 40 year old woman. Running is my favorite escape. It is my natural Prozac! Running and breaking a really great sweat keeps me a HAPPY and BALANCED mommy. But NOT if it is on a hot Texas day such as today.
I finally got my kids off to the beach with their daddy's side of the family and it was 10:30am before I made it to the Town Lake Trails in Austin. I knew deep down this was going to be too late but darn it, that was NOT going to stop me. So off I went, running with the young crowds and feeling pretty good till mile 2; I planned on a 9 mile run. At this point, the sweat is pouring, there is no breeze, the sun is glaring down on my bod, and I am thinking, "Just do it Katherine. Don't stop, you can do it!" To make a long blog story short, I ran 6 miles and hated every minute of it. I was miserable and stopped more times than I want to mention to you all. IT SUCKED!!!
I write this now BC I am bummed. I love to exercise BC it makes the rest of my day more productive and energetic. I always feel much better about myself and how I look. I preach to all my clients and friends to no matter what, get in their exercise of choice! And now, at this moment, I am just tired. I have showered but I have NOT stopped sweating, and all I want to do is take a nap... which are not typical results from my exercise experiences!
Y'all, be careful and make a wise choice if you are going to exercise. Go to your gym or put in a DVD if it is too hot outside. It is better for you and you will not risk feeling like I do at this very moment. In fact, now all I want to do is drink a margarita and maybe eat some chips and queso...UGH and yet my favorites ;-)
Tomorrow is another day. If I miss my "exercise outside at the right time window" I will simply be wise and go to my gym!
