Cheaters...again.

That’s it. I think I’m losing all my faith in men and discovering that it doesn’t matter who you are, what you look like or how nice a woman you may be. Men have had wandering eyes for years and it’s so disheartening. We have beautiful and thin famous women seemingly being scorned, right and left. I mean, who can look at Halle Barry, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Winslet or the most recent, Sandra Bullock and even wonder why the men could want more?

Death Wish...

I think I have made a friend with someone who has a death wish. And I’m not sure if I should run fast and far away, or try to just listen and be there. The ironic thing is, she’s very intelligent and enjoyable most of the time; she’s, lived a privileged life and yet had has horrible things happen to her, mainly because of her choices. Yet, maybe her choices stemmed from the terrible things that happened to her. Or maybe still, anything she tells me could be a lie. But I’m drawn to her regardless of what I believe.

Size still Matters

There are so many things about being a woman which I love, but also that pisses me off. Lack of salary equality, the fact that aggressive women seem bitchy vs. the same MAN who is deemed decisive instead...that women should or do feel “guilty” about having a job vs. feeling the need to be the MOM all the time, the focus on looks and probably the biggest, yet most meaningless issue is the greater society’s focus on WEIGHT and looking “hot.”

That being said, and despite my hatred of it, I do see my own blatantly perceived difference with weight issues, and I won’t deny it. I know what it was like to be a pleasingly plump (curvy) woman for years, yet liked even more, what it felt to finally reach a “hot weight.” There, I said it and I miss it. I enjoyed looking like a hot older woman.

Meno vs. Viagra

>As I’m searching through the “feminine” aisle at the grocery store, something I’ve been doing for the past 33 years or so (finally having gotten over my teen mortification), it struck me that something about this wasn’t right.

Only this time, instead of purchasing maxi-pads and belts (you younger ones probably don’t even know what I mean!), I’m looking for menopausal remedies to make me feel human again due to the fact that all of my feminine parts were removed almost two years ago via a hysterectomy. And really, who even wants to talk about that?

Not in MY world...

I never joined a “support group” when my husband and I divorced (not my choice, but really it doesn’t matter). I wanted to, and talked to a group leader about it, but in the end, just didn’t feel comfortable talking about my feelings with a group of strangers. I mean, I could have used it….but I just couldn’t do it. I’ve really never joined a support group for any other thing that support groups have been set up for, though God knows I probably could have benefited from many, starting at my teens. (Think it should be mandatory these days!) However, I have no trouble discussing this particular marriage-ending problem with friends, old or new, because when you know someone who’s shared your pain, it doesn’t seem to matter and also seems to be very helpful.

I am most proud of: Other than helping two kids grow into compassionate, productive and capable young adults ...Starting a business from the ground up, with very little money and scared to death to make it as I quit a full-time job and we lived very frugaly!
