My eyes were truly opened when I took the plunge and moved from the heart of Dixie, Alabama to the big apple, New York City…mainly in regards to honing my own personal style. Working for a trend forecasting company gave me the training & knowledge to spot the trends whether they be good, bad or ugly. But through my blog I will share what I deem as the good & help you -whether you are a full breed fashionista or just someone hoping to gain a little clarity on your own personal style- decipher the trends & make them your own. And most importantly remember fashion is an art form incorporate who you are, where you came from & all things you love into your style every single day….

The BEST and WORST Dressed of the 2010 Academy Awards!

THE OSCARS….the true fashion test for celebrities & stylists alike. They've had the Golden Globes, the Grammy's & even the SAG Awards to perfect their look, see what the latest red carpet fashions are & hopefully learn from the worst dressed lists! And I think the celebs did quite well for the 2010 Academy Awards…I was pleasantly surprised to see improvements from the last award shows (aka Tina Fey, though she didn't make my Best Dressed list she greatly improved from the disastrous Zac Posen at the Golden Globes).

AHHH Award Season has begun!!! The time of year when my friends & I can gather & openly judge other people's clothes & not feel like total bitches, I love it. And I know y'all do the same thing...I mean who didn't have some snide remark when Bjork wore her swan gown a few years ago?! But at the same time who doesn't still ohhh & ahhh over the beauty ofMarion Cotillard in her shimmering scale like dress?! The Golden Globes are actually my favorite awards show because they combine the best TV & movie actors & actresses, thus more dresses & suits to fawn over!

Whether you're headin' to a dinner party or a night out with the girls mesmerize your company with a striking smoky eye! I was inspired by the makeup at the Bottega Veneta Fall 2009 Collection where the models (see pictures above) looked classy & chic in their lush dresses, statement jewelry & the final touch- an enticing smoky eye!

Who would have ever thought a muddy bike ride in Alabama would inspire a phenomenal & innovative sustainable clothing company...oh the wondrous ways the universe works! Earth Creations is the brainchild of Joy & Martin Ledvina that began over 10 years ago after Joy realized the mud from her bike ride was NOT coming out of her shirt. From there the wheels started turning & with the combination of Martin's chemical engineering skills & Joy's business skills & vision, Earth Creations' sustainable clothing line was formed! A humble beginning, the Bessemer, Alabama based company began selling their shirts in malls across the state & the positive feedback from customers was so immense expansion was definitely in order!
