Where did these past two weeks go? Where is this month going? When I have this much to do it seems like the time goes by so fast and I feel like I get older that much faster. This month has been full of activities. Last thing this and last thing that of elementary school.
If you love carrot cake and the cream cheese frosting, this recipe will become a family tradition! It's not dry nor too spicey but moist and has just the right hint of spices. The pineapple, I think, is the secret to success. It gives the right texture to the cake. And, of course, what is a carrot cake without the perrrrrrrrrrrfect cream cheese frosting! So, for your next big occassion you can't go wrong making this recipe. It keeps very well and freezes great too!

Check with your library to see if you can check out a state park pass for free entry into parks close to home. Take a hike. Hook a fish. Find an insect. Whatever you do, enjoy the beauty of being unplugged.
I’ll be 40 in January, a fact my ob noticed when she looked at my chart during my recent visit. She noted something in my chart and gave me a referral to go get my baseline mammogram. I went. I appreciated that the gowns we changed into were pulled from a warmer. I made a joke to the 2 waiting women who looked like they were waiting for the bomb to drop. (“I think we’re starting a fashion trend here!”) I didn’t get smushed as much as I thought I might. All in all, it wasn’t a bad experience.
Don’t get me wrong; I think that’s a good thing! June was sweet and all but she was flustered with dirt on the countertop or the thought of dinner being late. If she had to raise three kids, work full time at her own career and help her husband keep the family business running, poor June’s perfectly coiffed head would have popped right off.
But my mom is stronger than June Cleaver could ever hope to be.
