My Life in France
By skirt bookclub, Wednesday, August 26, 2009, 3 commentsThat's right ladies, we are restarting our bookclub! Angelia and I will be posting about one book per month, hopefully with weekly blogs to get you talking and thinking. I have recently rediscovered reading, in the last few years, and I can't seem to get enough. Sure we all have busy schedules and losts of stress, but lets put aside a little time every week to grow as women.
The first book is call My Life in France written by Julia Child. It is a memoir written about her move from a California girl to the well known cook, teacher and author. When Julia land in Paris in 1948 with her husband, Paul, she did not know any French, hardley cooked and was not well traveled. The book covers the discovery of a woman's passion for French culture and food.
We will witness her struggles and her tryumphs and I for one am looking forward to reading this book and then of course seeing the movie that is partially based on her memoir. The movie is called Julie & Julia and in theaters now.
Now let's get reading!
Until next time,
Laura
