Tammy McCottry-Brown | All About Audience Awareness
By margaret, Tuesday, November 1, 2011A ten-year vet of her self-titled show, Tammy takes her public pulpit seriously. “I have a responsibility to relay the message of hope, love, awareness, and becoming involved in your community.” And she doesn’t shy away from the harder discussions either on The Tammy Show: “Domestic violence, mental health, breast cancer awareness and child abuse—these topics deal with people’s life situations. It’s my prayer that the information can help someone on their journey to heal.” A few years ago, Tammy founded the National Women and Girls Summit, the goals of which are to empower and educate. Yet she insists she’s just paying it forward: “My parents were hard-working physicians who gave from their heart. They taught us how to be a good friend, a loving family member, a devoted community activist, and more importantly, to remember that your purpose in life is to be of service to your fellow man or woman.”
