Heather Tom: Actress, feminist, athlete

There’s no doubt that two-time Emmy Award-winning actress Heather Tom’s star is on the rise; her lengthy list of credits include film, television and Broadway. Her day job, playing Katie Logan on the daytime television series “The Bold and the Beautiful,” keeps her busy, but not so busy that she doesn’t have time to support the causes she believes in.

In 2003, Heather created Daytime for Planned Parenthood, a pro-choice committee. “Planned Parenthood is an organization that’s really near and dear to my heart,” she says. “It’s where I went to get my reproductive health care when I was a teenager, and it always felt like a safe place. I wanted to draw awareness to reproductive health through daytime [television].”
