My Career as a Housewife
By shelomita, Wednesday, April 7, 2010I am changing my career completely. I have quitted my job as a Front Office Manager in a Five Star Diamond Resort and pursue a challenging new opportunity as a Housewife. The decision was most daring, and I am thrilled to see what will happen..will I enjoy it, will I be able to cope and a lot of things.
My daily routine was not difficult. I have fixed schedule for my two sons like when they have to take a bath, when to eat, when to play, when to sleep and so on. Not difficult because I had three maids who were ready to help me with the household jobs and watching out my children while I was away for working. Going shopping was also not so challenging as I always took two of my maids with me to help me with the groceries and the children.
But I have said good bye to all the luxury I used to have. No more morning drive heading for work, no more morning meetings, and no more domestic helpers. I have sold the car and the house along with whatever items inside. I am going to be a Housewife...and it has started!
The reason why I took such a drastic decision is because my husband is going abroad to pursue his dream of worldwide career. I have been on and off living separately with him due to our different workplace but never in different country. So I have decided that this time all the family should join; me and the children. Enough long distance relationship, we need to start living as a normal family and to be one first we need to stay under the same roof.
I am not quite happy to the fact that I will financially depend on my husband, but looking from different point of view, this new role as a housewife and full time mother would be as challenging as my previous job as a hotelier.
You see, I have two babies who are one and a half years old and five months old. The youngest one is very much attached to me and does not want to be with anybody else but me. My first son is very active and can not stay in one place nor do something more than a second. So I have to try to squeeze the daily care of my two sons with the other routines like cleaning the house, cooking, washing the clothes, ironing, update my knowledge and to be beautiful for my husband. Easy? not a chance!
That is why I hardly can wait to start my new role effectively. Be a housewife and full time mother is interesting after all. I see myself as a General Manager who manage the house and the manpower including the daily routine, Executive Housekeeper to keep the house representable at all time, Financial Controller to manage the cost of living and family financial situation, Purchasing manager who handles groceries and daily purchase, Executive Chef who manage the family's menu and cook, Great hostess and accompany to my husband, Head Master who discipline the children, Teacher who teaches the children and take them for playing, and a life advisor for my husband's decision making process.
I have set my goal: having healthy, smart and active children who are fun loving and caring and beautiful and glowing at all time for my husband. Now I need to prepare my strategy to achieving my goal. My victory of the day would be when I welcome my husband home in shape, well groomed and beautiful in a clean and tidy house with a nice home made meals and two healthy and smart children.
I am crossing my finger....and the journey begins!
