Christmas Getting and New Year Gifting
By SaraDutilly, Tuesday, December 27, 2011, 1 commentsWell, Christmas is over.
Last week, I decided to decorate the house. Why the change of heart? I remembered that we were having the family at our house for Christmas Day, and you cannot celebrate Christmas Day without the appropriate decor.
December was full of parties and travel and cleaning and listening to lots of Christmas tunes.
But now it's over.
How did it go by so quickly?
It was our kid's first Christmas. And tomorrow will be his 1 year birthday. We haven't bought him gifts for either holiday.
He could use some clothes. He would play with little cars. He might enjoy a piece of chocolate. But would he care?
We didn't get gifts for each other either. That's how it goes in this house. We always celebrate, but tangibilities are scarce.
I do enjoy the giving and getting that comes with friendships and families. But this week, my husband and I gave very little.
But I do have a list of gift ideas for several people.
Perhaps for the New Year...
