Meditation & Mercury in Retrograde- Let it All Go!

Summer Greetings!   I hope you are enjoying your vacations, and staying out of this hot weather!  I’ve been spending most of my time indoors & only venturing outside in the early morning or later at night when the sun is setting.  I find it very relaxing to see the sunrise in the morning and again when the sun is setting.  It is also a special time where I can tend to my backyard garden and not worry about getting sunburned.

Did you know that gardening is a very relaxing activity for which many spiritual seekers choose as a way to meditate and release their tensions from the day?  As long as you are not a high tech professional gardener, pushing your tomato plants to the brink of their growing season!  In fact just about anything that you do, if you find peace and relaxation within it, can be a healing meditative practice for you.

You don’t have to twist yourself into a yoga pretzel or chant words that you don’t understand to achieve a Zen like moment.

Meditation is a form of awareness that is….. All about….nothing….. No….thing.   It’s a technique to help you release your thinking brain from every day ‘monkey mind’ thoughts to just plain old thoughts that come and go are you relax.  You are not attached or worrying heavily on any one situation.  You are just the mindful observer.

It takes discipline and focus, but it can be done.  Meditation is very helpful in all walks of life.  Think of meditation like the ‘reset’ or the ‘control/alt/delete’ boot command on your personal computer.  I have a PC so if you own a Mac your sequence will be different –but you get the idea.  Our brains are like computers only way more advanced, but we too need time to re-set our thinking patterns.

I can’t think of a better time but to ‘re-boot your thought processes’ through meditation and the awareness of Mercury in Retrograde!  Yup it’s that time of year.   Our beloved planet that rules communications is appearing to move backwards through the astrological charts.  Which means it’s best to clean up the desk, the old files, go through things, clean up, and ‘re-boot the mind.’

Now, would not be a good time to start anything new, unless whatever it is, you had intentions of doing in the past but never got around to it.  I use this time to re-connect with friends, clean off my desk, throughout stuff that no longer serves me.  It’s a ‘spring house cleaning time.’

So use Mercury in Retrograde to your advantage.  Relax your mind, release and let go of the tension.  Whatever seems to stick in your mind as a wandering thought that seems to come back again and again, take notice but do not attach emotions to it.  Just observe.  Once you are out of your meditation session, take the time to look around your life and clear out what does not serve you anymore.  It could be things that hold you down, places that don’t inspire you, or people who drain you.  Let it go and release them through respect, honor and love!

Have a fantastic week and thank you for reading!
