Inauguration in 60 Seconds

I almost didn’t watch. I almost didn’t call my kids away from their “stuff” and draw them to my side, explaining what a monumental occasion this was, why the tears running down my cheeks and hanging on my chin were because I was happy, not sad. I almost didn’t get to hear Aretha Franklin sing, Yo Yo Ma play, or hear the words of a man that have, for the first time in my life, inspired me to become involved in the world I live in, rather than be just a dot on it’s surface.
