Dear Friends,
Like us, we know you are frustrated by the lack of efficient efforts to deal with the aftermath of the BP spill in the Gulf. We're in this for the long run, folks--and will be dealing with the repercussions of this ecological disaster for generations to come. Right at this very moment, the Gulf area wildlife is suffering brutal conditions -- wallowing in pain and dying needless deaths. Those few that are saved in time, are able to be rehabilitated and then introduced back into their habitats need our support.
Let's try to increase the survival of so many desperate species by banding together. Unfortunately, since this is a man-made crisis and BP has to foot the bill for cleanup efforts, the government hasn't organized a nationwide plea to citizens to do their part and open up their pocketbooks. So, we figured we'd organize something to vent our frustration and hopefully alleviate some of the destruction in what little way we can.
Operation Adoption
We're calling upon our friends, family and colleagues to "symbolically adopt" the Gulf wildlife by donating any amount they can to the LA Gulf Response. The proceeds of this donation effort will benefit all wildlife located in the Gulf that have been affected by the BP oil spill.
We spoke to a representative at the WWF, and he recommended this hard-working and under-funded organization. Here is just a little information: LA GULF RESPONSE is a coordinated effort between several non-profit or governmental conservation and environmental organizations. Together our organizations have made a significant commitment to the restoration of coastal Louisiana reflected by our established body of work in this region. For more information regarding this local charity, head to: http://lagulfresponse.org/aboutus.html DIG DEEP
Please consider donating through the link provided below. You can either donate by credit card online or click the "send a check" option and an invoice will pop up for you to print and mail. If you wouldn't mind, please let us know how much you donated and when, so we can keep track of our progress and try to reach our goal of $10,000!
Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can try to repair the damage done with the hope of a better tomorrow.
Thank you for taking the time -- and action -- to help those in need. Follow Operation Adoption on Facebook at: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=136833012998711 Sincerely, your friends,
