About Me: Writer, editor, and media maven: I love all finding all the goodness the South has to offer then share it with the world. I'm a graduate of the University of Georgia where I served as Editor in Chief of The Red & Black. Since graduating, I bounced around the South before settling down in Atlanta with my husband and our two dogs. In addition to running PrettySouthern, I'm working on my first few short stories and novels -- it's all a labor of love.
More about Me: I'm an eclectic sort of gal. For me, every day is a new adventure in this wonderful world. The South has so much to offer I could spend the rest of my days walking in God's grace below the Mason Dixon line.
Favorite Music: lately I've been checking out more electronic music such as Pretty Lights and GirlTalk. It's the best music to work to. For partying, I like dubstep artists like Bassnectar, Rusko, and Daft Punk although being from the South I'll always have a special place in my heart for Ludacris, Outkast and T.I. Also, I think Death Cab For Cutie's "Soul Meets Body" may be my favorite song...ever.

I can't live without: Hugs. I have to have at least 10 hugs a day. It's part of the reason I got married. My husband gives the best hugs.
I am most proud of: my career accomplishments. I feel like I've done a lot in my years on this earth but I know I've got a long way to go. Writing will always be my passion and I'm constantly driven to do more.
I am most guilty of: worrying about stupid stuff. I am constantly having to remind myself of Bob Marley's words "Don't worry, be happy." Also, for being a Southern woman, I'm a terrible gardener. Almost all my plants have died.
Words I live by: We paint a picture of what we want for our lives, then God edits our brushstrokes.
The world would be a better place, if only: we could bring our dogs to work. Seriously, though we might not get as much done, we'd get to go outside more often to let the puppies play and use the bathroom. I love working from home with my super pups at my feet.
Interests: Writing, checking out new restaurants, hanging out with my handsome husband in our awesome pad, playing with our dogs Jones & Marley, UGA football (Go Dawgs!) and all things about the South.
