Woah!

So, I have attempted to post a new blog three times now and have had no luck.  I keep getting error messages, got a little frustrated, and gave up for a few days!

Here goes attempt #4. :)

I cannot remember the last time I wrote a blog.  When I signed up for SKIRT!, I was asked to at least blog 3 times a week.  I was doing a great job until...

I GOT ENGAGED!

and bought a house...

and life started spinning.

Three years ago, I didn't believe in marriage.  After seeing my father go through 3 painful divorces and get married to wife #4, I decided that the value of marriage had depleated.

I'm not one of those girls who has been planning their wedding since middle school...polka dots with monograms and what not.  I'm sort of a pratical woman....and sort of glass half empty kind of gal.  Not because I don't believe in the good in life (believe me, I do!) but because I'm a realist and know that human beings are flawed...and I wasn't willing to risk my happiness for that.

Then, I met Alan.  Late night talks, floating down the river in a raft, meet you for coffee at 1 in the morning, can't sleep, can't eat, shake you to the core type of romance.  It rocked my world and it scared the shit out of me.

Three years later and I am still crazy about him.  I'm still a realist but so is he.  We don't expect the unexpected.  I know when he needs his space and he knows when I need mine.  We're smart about money and we love Jesus and family.  He loves children..and dogs..a cold brown ale and my kisses on his cheek.  God blessed us with each other and we are thankful for that.

Buying a house is HUGE! and I'm terrified.  But, I'm not alone....and that's nice.

I have missed SKIRT! but I'm back! and totally hoping I don't get an error message this time ;)

Woah!

Glad we could

get you sorted out and that you are back with us.  Congrats on all the new and exciting life changes. It sounds like you have a lot going on all at once, but remember to slow down and enjoy it all.
