My Therapy
By Poses, Tuesday, March 2, 2010Recently, I had a revelation. A few Saturday's ago, I had one of those "absolutely nothing will go right today" kind of days. You know what I'm talking about. You made the coffee too weak, the dog wouldn't "go" outside but felt perfectly comfortable "going" on your living room floor, the hot water mysteriously won't work, every single pair of jeans you own are just, well, too tight and there is a monsoon outside when all you want to do is go for a run in the park.
Yup yup! One of those days.
Well ladies, let me tell you that I found therapy.
Throw.things.away.
Stacks of paper on the floor beside the desk? gone. Random sock hanging outside of the closet? kiss your match goodbye. High heels in the closet I'm pretending to have repaired? arrivederci!
Woo hoo! Seriously? It's getting a little out of control. I start to think by mid-afternoon that I may have gone a little too far.
"What was in that stack of paper beside the desk?" I ask myself.
Whoops.
Then, I have another revelation. If I haven't needed anything in that stack so far, what else have I not needed that I can get rid of?! Oh the possibilities! I will have space everywhere!
Ahhhh...I began to feel much better.
Moral to the story?
Next time I start having a bad day maybe I should call a real therapist because I definitely threw away my W2, my grandmother's address, and apparently my renewed car insurance card.
