The Gentle Man
By PaperTrails, Tuesday, February 1, 2011I work with a man who makes everyone feel at ease, even when they're at their very worst. This friend, Jack, lost his dear, close friend, Bruce to AIDS last April. And being the giving sort of person that Jack is, he channeled his pain into crafting a book to pay tribute to his lost friend, and to raise money for AIDS research.

The book is called, "I dreamt of flying again. The awkwardness was gone," a title from one of Bruce's poems. Jack made 25 of these hand-crafted, cloth-bound letterpress books, the contents of which are several of Bruce's poems along with Jack's paintings. $150 each + $15 shipping and handling, the profits from the sale of all of the books are being donated to the AIDS Research Consortium of Atlanta.
