The Red-Haired-Man Saga Continues

I called Ethan Thursday night. I finally worked up the nerve to do it. We ended up talking for about an hour...no easy feat when you're trying to wrestle three young boys to take a bath and get in bed. I commend him on this.

We end up making vague plans to meet for lunch Saturday. He said he'd call me Friday and we'd set it up, but it didn't happen.  I thought to myself, "oh well...at least I don't have to wonder what would have happened if I hadn't made that call."

I figured, if things were meant to happen, they'll happen, if not..then...there's someone else out there for me.

I had also invited him out to my church. He said he might come with some friends of his that had been considering the church, but by this morning, I figured he wouldn't show. He's fairly established at his church, the one where I met him.

Second service came around and as I was standing in the choir risers when I happened to glance at the doors and there he was, tall and red-haired as ever. I guess the boys haven't turned him gray yet.

After the service, he introduced me to his friends (and these are friends he's known before his boys were born...that's a good sign, right?)

He invited me to lunch with them, and we picked the boys up from the children's area. This may have been a bad idea...I hadn't meant to put myself in their lives yet, but maybe this is how it's supposed to happen. The oldest, Enoch, recognized me right away. The twins took awhile. After all, they were 4 when they saw me last, they're six now.  But as we went to the cars, Enoch was begging to ride with me, cuddling with me (Yay! He may be 10, but he hasn't lost his ability to cuddle yet!  He's not too "cool" yet. This makes me extremely happy).

With Enoch and Jurrien in my car, Levi with his dad, we trekked to Zoo-Kinis and had a very exciting time with his friends. (For those of you who have never been to dinner with 6-old-boys....try it sometime.)

We laughed. We talked. Enoch begged me to go swimming with them. The twins begged to go home with me for a sleepover (Yikes...not at my house!!) They still adore me.

I felt like I was right where I was supposed to be. Now, I just need to convince him I'm supposed to be there.

Now it's time to go pick them up for Vacation Bible School.
