About Me

Kids: No kids

Political Leaning: Moderate

Occupation: Student, majoring in journalism, minoring in fine arts

Education: College

Relationship Status: Single

Favorite Music: It's easier to say what kind of music I don't like. I am not a fan of really hard rock, metal, or rap. Other than that, I love all music. I suppose, if I have to choose a favorite, I'd go with classic rock, jazz, and Indie. I like country, because I grew up with it so I can't deny my roots. I love going to hear local musicians around town, especially Icarus Fixed and Alma Quartet. My all-time favorite band is The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Favorite Books and Writers: Anything by John Grisham, Stephen King, Michael Crichton, Lauren Weisberger, Jennifer Weiner, and Edgar Allen Poe. My favorite books are "Rebecca," by Daphne Du Maurier, "The Historian," by Elizabeth Kostova, "Jane Eyre," by Charlotte Bronte, and "Practical Magic," by Alice Hoffman.

I am most proud of: Graduating with a bachelor of science degree in print journalism, minor in fine arts. On Dec. 12, 2009, after 4 and a half years full of education, both in school and in life, full of tears and laughter and pain and pleasure....it's over.

I am most guilty of: Getting lost in a novel when I should be doing other things, such as cleaning...or homework. And spending way too much time on the computer.

The world would be a better place, if only: Everybody used correct grammar.

Words I live by: There are no regrets, there are only lessons to be learned from the mistakes I have made.

Interests: I'm a writer, first and foremost. I write several styles; prose, poetry, novels, plays, but carreer wise, I am a journalist (or will be when I recieve that degree in December). I sing, act, try to dance. Music is my first (and technically, only) love. I don't play instruments (my hands aren't coordinated enough for piano or guitar, and I have no interest in the others), but a good night for me is going to a local club/bar/wine cellar and listening to one of my favorite bands. My favorite night of the month is the First Friday Art Trail...art, music, free wine...what's not to love? As for other interests, I love animals, all of them, but especially snakes...didn't see that one coming, did you? I love to cook and bake, but I hate cleaning, doing dishes, folding laundry...I only do those things out of necessity...

Profession: Journalism and Fine Arts Student

Slogan: Single girl in the (small) city.....Living the (Music-Filled) life.

About Me: I'm a little bit of everything.  I'm a rational person who chooses to behave irrationally at times.  I'm crazy. I'm off-beat, off-the-wall, and fun.  But only people who really know me get to see this side of me...to those who I'm not close to, I seem closed off and quiet.  Little do they know...HA!  My personality has the ability to scare some people.  For most...it's a love me or hate me kind of thing.  I can charm one person and simultaneously annoy the heck out of another...and have a blast doing it :)  I'm not into partying or clubs (anymore...) and I don't like big crowds, but I do enjoy going out on Saturday nights and listening to bands.  I have a mini-rebellious streak that shows up now and then, but for the most part, I follow the rules.  I am happiest when I'm surrounded by music.  When I'm up with the choir at church, I glow.  I love to sing, even though I still haven't figured out if I'm good.  I'm true to myself and I (usually) do what I want...consequences be damned.  I learn from my mistakes but I regret nothing; there's no time for that.  When I love, it's strong and deep.  I don't hate...my energy is better spent elsewhere.  I am who I am.  I enjoy every moment because I never know who I am.  I go to the best unknown university ever (ENMU....small classes, great interaction, nice campus, the best friends I've ever had, low tuition....and hardly anything to do in a town of 12,000).  I am and will always be a Texas girl, but I get restless easily and dream of living in a million different worlds.  I'll try most things at least once, twice if I like it.  If I'm afraid of it, I do it, just to prove that I can.  That's basically me.
