What do you know about Slackers?
By NV, Wednesday, March 18, 2009, 2 commentsI’m not one to be a slacker, until I came across these cool Havana Slackers from former corporate guy turned shoe guru, Joel Menard. When I met Joel, he told me he used to work hard and be a little bit uptight – but he changed his thinking and has since become a slacker. A shoe-designing, money-making slacker, that is – an interesting slacker, if you will.
Havana Slackers’ tagline is: Lowering the Bar. They don’t want to raise the bar, they want to lower it – take a breather, a load off...RELAX, man!!
I like it – the idea, the design and the coziness of the shoes. They’re different looking, and not for the regular flip-flop types. You have to be a slacker to appreciate these sandals, which are actually quite fashion-forward because they are eco-friendly, made of 100% recyclable materials and they’re handmade.
Therefore, each shoe comes complete with its own uniqueness and marks, not to be seen as flaws, but beautiful characteristics of the shoe...you know, like human beings.
Check ‘em out – what do you think?
