twilight zone weekend

Monday, August, 25, 2008

Well, I am happy to report that the skirt! office in Jacksonville is still standing after Fay. I don’t know if it was because I was going completely stir-crazy from sitting out tornado weather and 50 mph winds, but I had kind of a strange weekend.

First of all, I worked out, which never happens. On Sunday, believe it or not, I was in the mood to lift weights and wreak havoc on my own body, which my muscles are whining about today. Then, the police came to my house twice because a panic button had apparently been pushed in my apartment...when I didn’t even know I had a panic button...while I had been out for four hours shopping with my boyfriend. Hmmm. So I have to solve that mystery with maintenance later today. I freaked out for a few seconds thinking (lamely) that someone had broken into my apartment and pushed the panic button. (?!) It might have been residual fear from that article I read over the weekend about how women should always be prepared for bad guys just waiting to take advantage of us...you know, the general culture of fear that, as women, we’re taught to live in. I also hadn’t eaten in hours, so maybe I was just hypoglycemic.

Anyway, I’m back now and have a case of the Mondays, so, until tomorrow...peace, love & skirt!
