Doctor took one look at my throat and said, “Yes, definitely strep throat.” Wonderful! She told me I’d be contagious until I’d been taking my antibiotics for 48 hours. I went to my daughter’s open house tonight right after reaching my 24 hours on antibiotics.
I worked from home today and of course I worked the entire day pretty much non-stop. Isn’t that what happens somehow when you’re working from home? You work even harder. After I finish this post I have to log back into my work system to complete two reports I usually do on Thursday. I’m on vacation tomorrow and Friday, so I have to do them tonight. So I’ll be logging in some more hours. Not that anyone is counting them when you’re on salary. You just get the job done, regardless of how many hours it takes.
I also squeezed in all my uniform shopping on my “lunch hour.” It was cool because we went to the store that my daughter modeled for recently and we ran into the owner on the sales floor. He was happy to see us there.
I came back and worked some more then took my daughter to her “Ice Cream Social.” We met her new teacher, who is also brand new to the school. She looked great! She’s young, fresh-faced, and optimistic looking. She hasn’t been jaded from years of teaching in a public school system yet. I’m being bad. Actually, my daughter’s school is one of the exceptional schools in HISD. It’s schools like this that make me still have faith in the public school system.
Tomorrow is Fun Day with the kids. We’ll go do something fun together during the day. Friday is their daddy’s day because we will be celebrating our anniversary together.
The only thing left to buy them before school starts on Monday are their socks. Sounds weird I know, but they didn’t’ have any socks I liked at the uniform store.
So the week goes! So it flies by, just like the summer and just like the year.
