There’s been some buzz lately about slips being in or out of fashion. Some people claim they have seen their day, and even some major department stores have quit carrying them all together.
But some quirkier, personality-filled celebs and bloggers have recently sung their praise. And now I want in on the fun, too. About a year ago I discovered the need for a slip when getting dressed for a day football game. I had on what I thought was a solid red knit dress, but once on I noticed it was paper thin. Paper. Thin.
I called every single friend in town and could only find one slip. It did the trick, and I was saved. I had a new love for that forgotten piece of clothing.
Now I want more. To sleep in. To wear under skirts and dresses. To add interest to clothes. Zooey Deschanel was quoted in a fashion mag recently saying she liked to keep brightly colored slips in her closet to add a fun surprise to her outfits. I like her style. And i want to invest in more vintage dresses, making slips absolutely necessary. I think I’ll start with this one:

What a gorgeous slip! I love to see a little bit of lace draping from one's skirt or dress. Very sexy :) thanx!
