“As a writer, I play with words all day long. I toy with them, listen for their overtones, crack them open, and try to stuff my thoughts inside.” – Phillip Yancey
Like most literary-minded folks, I have a special relationship with the written word. It’s always been my preferred form of communication. I’m a chronicile journal-er, a seasoned letter-writer. I get my therapy by emptying my thoughts onto wide-rule. I get kicks from translating words into art – using colored pencils, paper scraps and watercolor to turn a quotation into a wall-worthy piece.
So, imagine my delight when I stumbled upon the Wordle website this morning. Type in a body of text, and have it instantly translated into an eye-pleasing jumble of color and typography. Pretty dandy.
I typed in the buzz words from this month’s F-word issue, and came out with this: http://wordle.net/gallery/wrdl/75104/july. I have a feeling all of my notes and quotes are going to turn into “word clouds” today.
