My step-daughter, Mandi, and I had the Zumba experience today and it was SO MUCH FUN!

It all started last week, the day after her arrival. She came to visit us for a week. We took her to Discovery Green Park last Wednesday and when we were there we heard music. We followed the sound of the music and found an exercise class. A whole group of people, mostly women, standing in a big open green space in front of a small stage. We started to dance spontaneously to the music on a sidewalk nearby.

Yesterday she told me she wanted to go back for the dance class. We had so much fun dancing to the music in the Houston humidity. It was a great class. I was so surprised at how well we were able to keep up with the class, considering it was our first one.

Mandi came away motivated to get New Orleans to start zumba classes there. I came away motivated to go back next week.
