Hard to think that poor air quality can be good news for anyone, but perhaps this is a bit of good news for commuters:  you might be able to catch a free ride to work.

If you drive into Columbia from Camden, Lugoff, Newberry, or Chapin, you may have thought abut taking SmartRide, a shuttle that makes round trips during the work week. 

On high ozone days this summer, SmartRide is even smarter--because it’s free.

Anytime through September 30 that DHEC issues an orange ground level ozone alert, you can get free fare.  Check ozone levels at scdhec.gov/ozone.
