By Gretchen Clark, Monday, June 30, 2008, 7 commentsWhen I drop my daughter off at kindergarten in the mornings, I have noticed that Bailey’s mother triggers my sense of superiority. I looked twice when Bailey’s mother let her wear the red velvet dress with the dirty pink cowboy boots on PE day. I sighed when Bailey lined up behind my daughter wearing a furry purple hat with leopard-print trim paired with a floral skirt; the stems of her little legs slipped into red-and-white striped tights. I smirked when her mother decided it was okay to let her child come to school with a wild swarm of butterfly clips in her tangled auburn tresses.

Eurekajunebug I loved reading your very short example as much as I loved reading Blue Tutu. I think everyone can and should tell their stories, and not be sucked into the judgement category (I place myself in way too often) of who is better. We're all so different from each other but all connected because we're all humans, and we're here at skirt women! Please do tell your story, but don't be shy because it may not seem as good.
I feel like the moral of the Blue Tutu reminds us of the connection we all have with each other because none of us are 100% the same. Thanks so much!
