It's love.

The weekend sun is setting, as I sit atop my brand new (to me) golden loveseat. It was an impulse buy. I certainly didn’t wake up this morning, thinking, “Gee. Today I’m going to buy a large piece of furniture.” It just all happened so fast. Some people make last minute gum or lifesaver purchases at the register. Me? I bought a couch. 

One minute, I was listlessly clicking away on craigslist, the next I was down the street in a complete stranger’s apartment, admiring her eclectic collection of do-dads. When my eyes met with the loveseat, it was inescapable.

So, I’ve rearranged my already-cramped room to accommodate five feet of velvety brown goodness. And, here I sit. On my very own piece of furniture.

Since I left the nest, I’ve slowly been acquiring my own pieces here and there. I really get a kick out of collecting the things that make up a home. It makes me feel like I’m my way to becoming a real person. The day I bought my first set of dishes, I was so giddy that  you would’ve thought I’d just found the door to Narnia.

This seat. Man, it just feels so right. Presently, I’m sitting smack in the middle of the cushion, resting my back against the gentle tuffted curves. It’s like it was meant for me. I think it’s love. No wonder that’s why they call it a loveseat.
