Just an old-fashioned hello
By getaclewis, Wednesday, July 1, 2009, 11 commentsJust thought I’d pop in and say Hi to all of my skirt!buds and let you know that life is good and I’m feeling fine. My health seems to have completely restored after the mysterious blood clots in my lungs this spring and our family is continuing to learn to cope with the loss of my precious nephew, Jordan.
Dunno why I’m not writing. There’s just nothing perched on my psyche, waiting to be unleashed, and so I remain dormant.
My 3-year-old niece has come to live with us for awhile and ohhh the blogs that could fill. Whew, had I truly forgotten how sheer fatigue felt? Ha. She is a joy in my life, despite the disruption to my carefree schedule. And oh, heaven of heavens, saint of saints, I believe she may actually potty train soon! (If only I can get her to stop crouching behind furniture or out of sight when she feels the urge to unburden her bowels. That one’s stumping me!)

I just returned from a beach trip with 10 other girls and Oh. My. GAWD we had fun!! We spanned five decades (our ages were 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 23, 26, 34, 45 and 53 – and there were NO BOYS ALLOWED) and I am newly reminded that a community of fun-loving (and simply loving) women is worth more than all of this world’s gold.

Thanks Cheryl~ Was wondering if you were still around. :) I am glad your niece is there with you. I know the joys and fatigues of being a mommy to a toddler. lol As you can see alot of my blogs include Nathaniel somewhere. I am sure I could fill blogs in no time given the opportunity with him being around.. Yesterday, he got mad and as retribution, he made sure he told me that he farted on my bed because he didn't like me anymore. I said, "well son, as gross as the thought of you pooting on my bed is, if you don't like me, then I am doing my job." He shot me a dirty look and rolled over to go nite nite.. lol

You are just a wad of hugs and kisses, aren't ya?
Hey now,
It's funny how a person's personality comes through the written page. Sometimes individuals are so pleasingly transparent that they can't help themselves. I get that feeling from you and your blogs. It's just a delight! I'm sorry about your sickness, glad you guys are healing from your loss, and wish you all the best with your little rug rat!
