Mental meanderings

I register tonight for my spring class – Managerial Accounting.  Yuck.  If it wasn’t required, believe me I’d never be near this class!  I can never make a balance sheet BALANCE!  And that’s kind of important...  Hopefully the book is not terribly expensive.

After registering I am going to Target for groceries... hope I have as interesting of a trip as Sarah usually does!

Tucker seems to be fine now.  For those of you not on Twitter, when Emma and I got home Monday night we found Tucker, our 1 year old Pointer, had a nail stuck in his paw!  I called the vet when I couldn’t get it out myself, and she met us at her office and took care of him.  Poor dog was trembling so badly.  He is on antibiotics for a few more days, but you can’t tell now anything was ever wrong.  The other animals seem to be under the weather, though; both cats have been sneezing like crazy for a couple days now, and I noticed last night my Corgi, Daisy, had a warm, dry nose and she didn’t seem to feel so well.  She is getting old (9 yrs now) and I worry about her.

Something has happened to my wonderful little girl... she’s been replaced with a bratty preteen!  OMG last night I told her to pick up in her room while I was making dinner, and she threw herself down on my bed and cried!  She gets sullen, sulky, and just plain refuses to do anything.  It is so frustrating I want to SCREAM! But – it’s only when we ask her to do something.  It’s making me insane.

I really need to finish the paintings I was working on for her... and would love to start on one of the two beading projects I have.  Yesterday our school system was closed because there was so much flooding in the area from a couple days of heavy rain. I would have loved to have the day off also!  I could have gotten so much done here at home.

Girl Scout College is this Saturday.  It’s basically workshops for leaders.  The location was moved for lack of registration, but there has to be more participants than I thought, because I am positive the workshops I am signed up for were in my third choice list... at least we get our registration money back!

I was an international

I was an international business major in college and had to take both financial accounting and managerial accounting, and I liked managerial much better. Basically, there's not as much quanititative stuff (ie: less equations, formulas, and creating balance sheets), and more qualitative stuff (learning to interpret and glean information from all those equations, formulas, and balance sheets). So, hopefully it won't be so bad for you. Have fun at Target!

International Business was

International Business was what I was changing to after retail (thank goodness I smartened up about that!) but I gave up on the big university and the school I am at now doesn't have as much variety. General Business Management for me now! As long as there is less formulas and things involved I should be ok - I can analyze and all as much as you want, but make me do deep math and I am stuck! My brain just doesn't "click" with those things. http://conversationswchristine.spaces.live.com

I gagged a little.

Oh, wow. I hated taking accounting. Once upon a time I was a general business major... then a Risk Management and Insurance major (no wonder I'm taking forever to graduate... only 120 days left!).

It's good information to know how to interpret. Now that I'm staring my own writing business, I'm so happy I have that background.

At the same time... ack, gag, spit, snort... YACK.

Create your own luck by working hard; you can do it. Oh, and, if you have any questions-- ask Sarah (not me!). Heehee.

Have fun with your paintings and Girl Scout College... now, that sounds like fun!

Sigh

Christine, how is it that our daughters wake up one day and have become US?!? Egad! They have moods and OPINIONS and everythang! I did NOT give her permission to change! ;-) Lawd, I remember the days when she was sweet... and so was I... "Trust Life's unfolding..."

I think her New Year's

I think her New Year's Resolution was to do a 180 in behaviour! I also used to be able to pick out clothes for her and she would absolutely love them. Now it's "Those shoes? Ew!" So any shopping trips without her involve a lot of phone calling among each other and picture messages. I want my little angel back!!! http://conversationswchristine.spaces.live.com

Christine, I understand

Christine, I understand about the teenagers. A friend of mine explained it this way, "One day my son walked into the room and he'd been replaced with another mind and body." She compared it to Invasion of the Body Snatchers!" It's true. I used to be a very cool mom...now my boys think I am insane and a complete dork! xxx i am happy your doggy is ok!

Thanks Kim! Sad thing is, I

Thanks Kim! Sad thing is, I still have three months before she's ELEVEN! She's not even a teenager yet! Makes me wonder just how hard it will be... http://conversationswchristine.spaces.live.com
