The above title is a play on the plaintive chorus of Baby (Please Come Home), the U2 Christmas song, just so you know.
I’m really crap at poetry. So crap that I write shitty haikus to make myself laugh, trying my darnedest to make them as bad as possible. Here’s an example:
The leaves are falling.
Falling, falling, falling down.
The leaves are falling.
(This was an autumn-inspired poem in case you couldn’t tell. Interpretive hand motions and light swaying help to convey the image of falling leaves.)
When it came time for me to write my “I miss Amy” blog, I couldn’t really think of anything interesting to say. I’ve turned to song lyrics, slightly altered song lyrics, to help me out.
We love you Amy!
Oh, yes we do!
We love you Amy,
And we’ll be true!
When you’re not with us,
We’re blue!
Oh, Amy, we love you!
For those of you who are not wise to the magnificence that is Bye, Bye, Birdie, here’s a youtube link of some random high school teenyboppers singing the overture, so that you can sing along, too.

I’m blue, Amy. Please come home.
