It’s so hard to keep up with what month it is when you’re the editor of a monthly magazine. I’m currently working on our January issue, and have to think long and hard about what date it is when I’m asked. I’ve just sent the December issue of skirt! away, and after writing about all the Christmas events coming up next month, and looking for holiday products for you to love, it feels like Christmas is just around the corner.
As a big fan of the holiday season, I’m desperate not to let the next few weeks disappear without my recognition.
I’m one of those purists who won’t listen to Christmas music or put up my tree until December 1st – I have to give Thanksgiving its due credit. Some of my friends go Christmas-crazy the day after Thanksgiving.
When’s your official Christmas start date?

Christmas is practically here for me! I'm one who has to shop a little year round in small amounts (whenever stuff's on sale), so that I save money and don't go crazy in December. When I was little, Christmas always started around December 1st, which is my younger sister's birthday and usually we got our tree around the same time. Since Hubby and I are going to be going to NC for a week for the holidays like last year, we're not decorating the apartment, so it feels a little weird, but it's nice not to have to come home after a long drive with decorations to take down. I guess Thanksgiving, with the Macy's parade and all, is really when I start to think about Christmas full-time.
