Acid Reflux on Election Day?

The last few months have been a roller coaster of emotions for me and I am sure for millions of other people. I can’t name you all, so just raise your hands. You, in the back, one hand will do. Don’t want any double dipping!

2 days ago I spoke to a woman from CA. who voted early. She sounded so happy to have it over with and she is so excited about seeing her candidate win. I am just as happy to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 4th because I believe that the anticipation will be more of a high than the actual voting. Why? Because they won’t let me keep voting until my finger falls off. Because I have but one vote and I am nervous that it just might not make a difference.

Why? Because of the lead that Barack Obama has I am fearful that people will get lazy and stay home. If you do, and he loses because voting was light, I will have to suffer the consequences of your inability to take this all seriously. I may have to live under a government that might work in a state that has nothing to do with the state I live in or my state of mind. You don’t want to see me so pissed off. Trust me. I have ex-boyfriends who will testify to me losing my cool over their bad behavior and injustice. And not in that order.

I would also like to address mention the issue of Obama taking from the rich and giving to the poor. First of all, he would look hot as Robin Hood in tights , but that sounds so un-presidential. I am saddened by the anger this had caused.  I got 2 emails from people I know. One I thought I really knew, the other one I will never ever get. They were so up in arms by the fact that they have worked so hard and long (like most of us are doing right now) and now they have to give to people who have fallen on hard times. A hand out as opposed to a hand.  The venom flew off the screen and I thought how stupid can they be. Yes, stupid.  One word for them all -loopholes. Don’t tell me you won’t be using them till the cows come home. You and the others who feel this way are not the Americans I want to be around. You tarnish this nation while you polish your flag label pin. Psst.....remember what they say about payback.

And when my business and book take off and they come to me and say that I need to be taxed a little more to make equality a reality for the majority in this country, I will say “yes and I am so grateful that I am in a good place where I am not homeless, my kids are in good schools, my health insurance is excellent, I can pay my mortgage, I live in a good neighborhood, the nations of the world respect us again and use as a model as to how people should live together. And I can buy bloggger Kim 2 pairs of Jimmy Choos shoes!”

So let’s get out there and vote. Often.

Well, I for one, would not want to see you pissed, girl!! I agree, the only way Obama will lose is if people assume he already won. Oh, I do hope everybody votes...One vote matters. Our votes matter. I am driving my kids nuts saying, "Do you have all your stuff to go vote tomorrow? Are you going together? Are you telling your friends to vote?" They think I'm a freak! I don't care! XXXX INHALE.....EXALE...INHALE...EXHALE

elizabeth cassidy, CC Certified Life, Transition and Intuition Coach We need more moms like you getting your kids to vote and also teaching them why they are voting. they may think you a freak right now, but I bet they appreciate it all one day. I am so excited about the possible outcome. You just may hear me tomorrow night without means of a phone! I think we should start a meditation blog for all of us! Exhale, inhale, picture yourself at your favorite place! It's a new day , a new dawn , a new future for us all!

Elizabeth, I have not felt this much excitement about an election in years, and my town just became a city, so believe me, we know political excitement! We have tons of "kids" in our 'hood who have just turned 18 and I have to tell you, their enthusiasm is contagious. I look forward to your Wednesday blog! (BTW, so nice meeting you on the call last week and thanks for the Facebook link!)

elizabeth cassidy, CC Certified Life, Transition and Intuition Coach I can only imagine what my blog will be like on Wed. I think I am going to wait for the words to come, the emotion to overcome me and let it all out. My new fear is what do I blog about after the elections. If McCain wins, it might be coming from a hospital bed. And nice to connect on Facebook also!

ahh, I feel the same way. It hasn't really dawned on me that in 36 hours I might be having to digest McCain (and worse, Sarah Palin) in the white house. I am doing everything I can to get people to understand how necessary voting is. I am ready for my stomach to calm down but I am not at all ready to deal with an outcome in the wrong direction.
