Sarah's Shootin' Again

I was so excited to see Barack’s “infomercial”.  Sadly I missed all but 5 minutes of it because my son’s last soccer practice was full of scrimmage and his team was ahead 1-0 which apparently is a cardinal sin and we had to spend an extra 10 minutes tying the score.

Of course, I had to watch the “post game” show to see who heard what.  And damn if they didn’t report a Sarah Palin accusation.  No!  This isn’t the Bill Ayers accusation.  That’s old news and 6 days before the election, you have to have new news.  So, now she’s found that Barack went to the bathroom in the same stall as Rashid Khalidi, a rumored spokesman for the Palestinian Liberation Organization.  (PLO)  Okay, not quite that distant a relationship, Khallidi is yet another neighbor from that Chicago neighborhood. He’s a professor of Middle Eastern studies at Columbia and was teaching at the University of Chicago while Obama was teaching there.  Hmmm, I’m starting to understand Obama’s willingness to listen to people from other pursuasions.  And I think that’s fabulous!  McCain’s desire to require preconditions before we’ll come to the discussion table is, in my mind, the equivalent of a 7 year-old holding his breath ‘til he turns blue or gets his way.

The accusation itself is infuriating to me.  If the campaign is as excited as they say they are about being the underdog, then they need to be using their time to strengthen their platforms, not shooting off their mouths with far-fetched dirt aimed at tearing down the character of their opponent.  I know, I know, I wrote about not being negative and full of hate.  But is it too much to ask that you tell me why I should vote for you not why I shouldn’t vote for someone else? And if you’re going to give me a reason not to vote for someone, please make it because they aren’t fiscally responsible or they’ve abused their power in the past, not you don’t like who they’ve worked with in the past!  And for the love of the Lord, do not continue to fan the fire of fear in people who continue to believe that because someone’s middle name is Hussein, they are automatically a terrorist.

My mom used to say if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.  McCain is the oldest candidate in this race.  You’d think he’d have the maturity to follow that rule of thumb. Ooooh, right. He didn’t make the accusation.  He let his “rogue” partner take the hit.  Maybe that’s all she’s going to be good for in these last days.  But if he doesn’t have any more ability to stop her from putting out such ignorant public declarations, then what kind of leader is he anyway?

I keep thinking I can’t take anymore in this campaign.  I can ignore the whining of McCain that his rich friends tapped out their max for campaign contributions while Obama had a groundswell of $10, $25, and $100 donations- small beans to McCain supporters.  Look what a little from a lot can do vs. a lot from a little.  But when they start singing the second verse of a worn out song that people grew tired of before and expect it to cause fear enough that will people not vote for an honest person, I grow more infuriated.

Oh lord, McCain just said Joe the Plumber on Larry King...I think I need a drink.

Enjoy!

Yeah, I watched Larry

Yeah, I watched Larry King...very good. Looove Larry! Anyhow, is that really Palin in the photo? That is some scary sh%t! I am fed up with the mud slinging and lies and bullcrap. I've had it. I can't wait to vote on Nov. 4! Put an end to all the superficiallity! Hey, did you hear that several stars, such as Susan Sarandin, Seal, and Heidi Kliem are leaving America if Mccain wins...now, let me tell ya, that realllllllly gets me hooooot....cuz, I'm thinkin' why don't you stay to make things better you damn fooools!!!!!! This country gave you loooots of money, honey...why don't you stay to make a difference. And Heidi is not even from here, damn it! What are your thoughts on this, Miss Erin B.?! This made me very angry.

I won't take the 5th- I can't wait for the 5th!

elizabeth cassidy, CC Certified Life, Transition and Intuition Coach the 30 minutes was very good and sincere and not "elitist" at all because I don't think that is what our future president is about. sharing a bathroom. I want 5 minutes with SP. In the words of Charles Dickens - I resign to madness!

I stood in line yesterday

I stood in line yesterday for four hours to vote early here in Atlanta. Ironically, I got sunburnt from standing outside for so long. Can you believe it? It's almost November and I got sunburnt!! Anyway, it felt great to cast my vote for Obama so I can really try to enjoy these last few days of the election. I thought the infomercial was brilliant. It broke my heart to see the retired couple where the husband had to go back to work at Walmart (I will refrain from sharing my views about that company on here) so his wife can have access to her medications. He's 72 and should be enjoying his retirement. Broke my heart. My boyfriend and I decided last night that we are going to be donating our time and money to people in need this holiday season rather than buying each other more stuff that we don't need. As much as I love Obama, I'm glad that this race will be over soon and we can all move on as a country and put this nasty campaign season behind us. I hope politicians refrain from going there in future elections.

what a great idea

elizabeth cassidy, CC Certified Life, Transition and Intuition Coach Melissa, thanks so much for voting early! I would love to be able to do that, but I will wait my turn on Tuesday and vote for change. Plus, the tan looks good. :-) what you wrote about what you and your boyfriend are doing for the holidays gave me an idea - maybe us skirt! bloggers could pick a cause(or causes) and all try to do something to make the lives of some people better this holiday. We could all blog about what we are doing and hopefully the people who come and read our blogs will want to ,help also. Kim Renee & Melissa - what do you think? Hey skirt! bloggers - what do you think?

I think that sounds like a

I think that sounds like a great idea!!!

Well, now, if you remember...

In my Erin blog, I said the holidays are when most organizations receive most of their contributions. It is a great idea, but if we're going to do it in true skirt!style, we should look to help when the organizations need the most help.

But, I will blog next about my reapproprating funds plan which maybe will help give some of y'all another idea.

And, of course, I have a greatorganization involving autsim that I would love to see the skirt!girls embrace.

How many people are (like

How many people are (like me) going to go as Sarah Palin for Halloween. My son is loaning me his awesome automatic rifle lego gun. If only I had time to get my husband a moose costume. Yes, I know this is completely off topic, but I'm on glass of wine #3 and am not smart enough to reply properly except to say, as usual I agree with you 100%

Oh, sigh.

I'm with you-- I would much rather sit down and discuss problems than drop giant bombs on them and hope they go away (hint: they won't).

Mr. Wonderful and I were completely silent during Barack's commercial. I was misty eyed several times. At the end, Mr. Wonderful said, "Now, he sounds like a leader."

Only a few days left... oh please oh please oh please... please, dear voters, make wise decisions.
