I heard voices last night!

Wednesday, October, 29, 2008

I had one of those days yesterday. I am having a few of those days this week.

I picked up my sweet, sick kitty Doris to give her a pill. She scratched me right across my left breast. My modeling days are over. My husband took one look at me when he got home(it was one of those –” I am so scared of that expression on her face looks” – as if should be) and he drew me a bath. First time in ...first time ever. I poured in some bubble bath and slipped in and nearly woke the dead. My before mentioned breast  was not used to that sort of slow soapy torture. My husband found religion last night.  I will forgive him. In a year or 2.

The day just sucked. till 9 PM and then I called into a call with my  fellow Lubbock skirt! bloggers.   I heard the voices of Renee, our Sarah and Charlene. And the other sisterly voices that were funny, clever, naughty and just full of life. I hardly thought of McCain and that is BIG! And there was Angelina, who always helps this techno phobic New Yorker

I am so glad and full of gratitude that I found skirt!! I have my voice back and it supported by such fabulous women. They make me feel that my voice counts.

Just wanted to let you all know that your voices count and keep writing!

After i sleep off the fun of the evening, I am sure my claws will be out and sharpened. But for the night, I felt surrounded by the good that comes from the women of Skirt!  And that poor guy who will be scarred after he is forced to wear gold lame. Ah what the hell. Get over it! :-)

You all rock. And thanks to Sarah who thought my voice didn’t shatter glass.

Kim – you’re on next time. We have your glass chilling for you!

I wondered who would be the first to write about it! You win!

Yep, we sure know how to burn up a phone line, huh? And indeed we were missing sisters, you know who you are, those poor unfortunate souls who's wine glasses went empty last night. (Pamela's went empty too but for an entirely different reason! She's my hero!)

Can you imagine what the skirt!pajama party is going to be like? Pillowfight! (the best one EVA!)

You are VERY Nora Ephron! I love your humour! I will read your book when it hits the NY times!---- I swear, I kept looking at the clock during my meeting thinking, WOW, I wonder what all of their voices sound like....so surreal to hear the voices of the women I have grown to love. I was like, "they are realllllly talking right now and I am not there. Do they have accents? Are they funny? Are they talking about Palin?? !!!!!" Do you have a NY accent, Elizabeth? I want the full report of what you all talked about. Every detail. Okay!

elizabeth cassidy, CC Certified Life, Transition and Intuition Coach everyone except for me had an accent! Truly, I kid you not. Renee sounded a tad northern to me. I think she must have some yankee blood in those veins! We talked about a lot of things- mostly about where the hell you were. and you will have to dance with the guy in gold lame on the skirt! cruise! thanks for the Nora Ephron line. I will be dedicating the book to you. :-)

Yes, that was kind of interesting.. hearing the voices. Next time I need a pic list next to the handle names AND everyone's actual names so I can figure it out. Elizabeth, I knew you immediately.. as you sound like my own neighbors/family. ;) It did feel, though, like some of you were in the same room or definitely knew each other. It was sometimes hard to follow. I knew Pamela's voice also but only because of what she said.. she speaks like she writes and her personality coming through loud and clear. She started talking and I smiled thinking, "I'll bet that's Pamela.." and it was. Anyway, that was fun--even though I was late and didn't speak much, I enjoyed it.
