Is it REAL?....or why you can't talk your bff away from the prince of darkness

The NUMBER #1 question people ask me about love addiction is:

Is it real?  I mean, c’mon...I understand nicotine addiction, crack or herion, even a shopping addiction, but LOVE?

Let’s get REAL....how many of us know someone who is with someone even though every single one of us, including our friend KNOWS that someone is WRONG for them.  Or, even worse, they sneak and hide and see, usually HIM, behind our backs, lie about it, change jobs, cities, clothes, friends, and give up their soul for HIM because they are ADDICKTED to HIM.

Or, maybe it was us, once a long time ago.  On the website link about there is a quiz ( I wrote, by the way, with help from the SLAA website) on how to know if you are a love addict.  If you know someone who you know is with Mr. Prince of Darkness (even when he is a street angel and house devil), use the quiz to help them see how they are being destroyed by love.  Love is powerful.  It can be used for good and evil. Under it’s spell, people make poor decisions, just like when they are on any drug.

Most important, be a friend to your friend, even if you are sick of hearing the excuses made about how they are in love and can’t help themselves.  Always leave that door open to help your friend find their soul, to remind them who they are, even over 30 minutes of coffee or a 2 minute text.  Lend a hand to a lost soul; all of us have days we need to be found when we are lost.
