I think it may have actually taken me a few days to process this information that I am about to share. I spent about $130 at the movies.
Let me say this again sslloowwllyyy – well, type it:
I...SPENT...$130...AT...THE...MOVIES.
My blog focus is shopping and finances – with an emphasis on saving money. [Ignore the last few blog entries that have no relevance to the aforementioned topics. I’ve been a bit...unfocused lately. OK – for awhile now, but I know what I’m supposed to be writing about and think about it as I write about all the other things for your reading pleasure and my purging via blog.] CLEARLY I failed in the saving money department this past weekend! The shock has just hit me. I came off of $130 at the MMOOVVVIEESS!
And it was cool. : )
In Wesley Chapel, they have a new Cobb Theatre called The Grove 16. One of their little taglines is: Every Night Feels Like A Movie Premiere. Ya huh – cha-ching. You have an option to watch the movie on the lower level, or go for the Cinebistro experience. It was a date night, and my hubbie treated me to the experience, of course. Two dirty martinis, a Henessey and coke, calamari, a buffalo chicken wrap with potato salad, a gourmet mac and cheese meal and a popcorn later...I hadn’t concerned myself with the price of festivities. Plus the movie, Body of Lies, was occupying my attention, and they keep you all cozy and comfy in their big, leather seats.
All in all, this is probably how much you may spend for a date night out – a nice dinner and a movie. Typically it usually doesn’t happen all in one place.
I am happy to say that we paid with budgeted cash, and while this may not be a weekly experience (I’m not crazy, Blockbuster does me just fine) – it was worth it. In this crazy economy, all the bad news and tough times – if you’ve saved a little, hopefully you can enjoy yourself some, too.
