I'm a ghostwriter and book editor - there are a lot of amazing and inspirational stories that deserve and need to be told... so I help shape and polish the writing first!
I'm a mom of two teenagers and the wife of an amazing man and, at heart, a loner who doesn't like to be alone. Some days, I want to jump on the bed and laugh joyously and, other times, I can barely suppress the temptation to crawl under the bed and hide from the world. Bi-polar? Nope... just a girl!...

Fiction Friday Update!

romance_novel.jpg

Well, whaddya know, these trashy novels don’t just write themselves, after all! And here we were all sitting here… waiting… um… expectantly… er…

…oh yeah! It was ME who was supposed to toss in the introductory chapter! Egad! (Lost and want details? Check out http://skirt.com/node/21195)

Heehee… actually, a few of the writers swapped chapter order amongst ourselves, as well as some of the deadline timing, and I simply forgot to clue in our eager public (not to mention some of our enthusiastic participants)!

So… here is this week’s amended Plan (and please remember that We Make Our Own Rules and - woohooooooooo! – that includes shifting deadlines when Life asks nicely):

Ms. Sarah, assuming that all goes well and the words cooperate, will launch our Trashy Romance Novel next week with the first official Fiction Friday. The rest of us will fall into line from there and, yes, I’ll send out a reminder that it’s your turn. (Um, Tara, after reading a few of your recent blogs, I’m convinced you need to join our ranks and take a chapter, my ardent friend! Anyone else want in?)

Above all... this is a no-pressure, relax-and-enjoy exercise.

Have fun writing, skirt!setters!

Cheryl, as you may know, i am horrible at reading directions....will we read your story before we begin ours? i do not understand why Sarah is working on hers now without reading the previous writing! will we read the previous plots, etc... before we write ours? Do you understand what I'm asking?~ Also, how long will they content be? I am a DORK! Sorry!

Wait a second- aren't you a teacher? And you're asking how long it has to be? That's the funniest thing I've read all morning- I love teachers! We are so like our students. Guess who gets in trouble for not paying attention in the meetings? The same person who used to get mad at her elementary kids for not paying attention in class. That would be... um... me.

I've always wanted to write a trashy romance novel. How do I get in on this action?
Stylishly yours,

Good heavens, I thought I'd responded to you a long time ago. We'd love for you to take a chapter! I'll put you next to last, right before Ms. Amy (BCBlogger) wraps it up. Stay tuned... :) "Trust Life's unfolding..."

Kim, ha, I can understand your confusion. Sarah asked to switch to Chapter 1 instead of 2, because she was concerned that she'll likely feel dizzy and nauseous during her original Fiction Friday deadline. So now she's first, then I'll take what she has written & use it to shape my chapter 2. Then the order will continue as it was before. (You're right to assume that you can't really prepare your chapter in advance, since you need to see where the story evolves first! Have fun! :-) "Trust Life's unfolding..."

Nope, just let the story within you dictate the length. There is no standard! "Trust Life's unfolding..."
