I'm a Salem College grad who recently moved back to the City of the Arts to work as the Editor of skirt! Blue Ridge Baby

“The garden is so affecting in this…season.”

~Anne Hathaway as “Jane Austen” in Becoming Jane

And so are the mountains of North Carolina. Unfortunately, my plans to putter up the 3-2-1 this weekend to see the beautiful Blue Ridges fade from blue-gray to burnt amber, well, they petered out. I’m not gonna lie; I’m pretty bummed.

But, since I can make the peak-week pilgrimage, I figured I’d take the silver lining from my rain cloud and pass it along to you.

Fact is, one of the prettiest drives around isn’t an hour or two away on the Parkway, but right in your backyard. I stumbled upon it several weeks ago on an afternoon drive, a luxury I can’t seem to deny myself no matter how high gas gets. And because half the beauty of the place comes from the stumbling, I’m not going to tell you what you’ll find when you get there, or why it’s so special to me. All I’m going to give you is the city and the road. The rest is up to you. Happy hunting J.

I'm a Blue Ridge Baby! And I'm going home to my mountains for a whole week for my granny's 90th birthday. FL fall weather sucks, so I'm doubly excited about seeing fall weather in the place that practically invented pretty leaves!
