The Girl Effect

One of the issues most dear to my heart is finding ways to help young girls become amazing, independent, intelligent young women. It’s one of the reasons I love skirt! and especially our Girl Power feature.

Someone just sent me a link to a really cool site I wanted to share with y’all. This site really captures the importance of why we need to show girls the potential they have to make a difference, to dream of a better life for themselves. Check it out.

I am particularly struck by how the website serves up a profound question to answer with so graphics so big and bold you can't miss it... The question draws your attention and makes you think. I like to see this, especially for girls whose intellect gets downplayed in many parts of the world. Even here in the U.S.A.
