i feel we can speak honestly and i have to share something with you all:

everyone is feeling the economic squeeze these days, but i’m about to feel the squeeze in my pants. from being full. and satisfied. on the cheap.

usually my bargain lunch is juanita greenberg’s, a fresh and fast joint where my moderately healthy (oh... except for all the melty cheese...) lunch comes in under $10 and lasts me two days.

i have cheated on my monthly juanita fix. i have just picked up lunch from fish. for $10, including tax and a drink.

i am without words.

i ordered a grilled shrimp mooshu wrap with cilantro yuzo sauce and a side of miso cucumber salade and a ginger ale (served in a compostable plastic cup with compostable straw in a compostable wrapper).

i can’t believe i have stopped long enough to type. it is delicious and thankfully not a weenie portion. true, it will not last me two days, but the deliciousness is worth forsaking the economic easiness of leftovers.

plus, the place just got remodeled and if you’re eating out, the courtyard is a great place to sit in this weather. it seems hardly anyone knows about the $10 lunch, so i’m happy to be the bearer of good news – get ahead of the curve and indulge today (and please bring me one on the way back to your office/class/meeting).

I've had the Mooshu pork with side of cucumber salad three times now and I'm still not tired of it. It's spicy and fresh at the same time. I wish I had one right now. ~nikki
