something's afoot

What are the chances that my husband has to be “on call” the same night as the salsa dancing that I suggested we attend for our anniversary? Yeah, I’m young, but I wasn’t born yesterday – that’s no coincidence!

So, has anyone had a memorable anniversary celebration worth mentioning? After 20 years I’m running out of ideas (and you can see above what happens to my most original ones). We’re not the types to rent a hot air balloon ... I’d be thrilled if he’d put on rollerblades and join me in a lap around the riverfront, but that’s about as likely as the samba lessons.

You’d think after doing calendars of local events for the past 4.5 years that I’d know all of the  events/restaurants/hotspots that hold potential for us. However, the fall schedule of soccer games, music lessons, work, etc is sapping my creativity. Anyone have any general ideas?

Allison, does he like golf? (Or, more importantly, does he have an aversion to golf?) After hours, the course is empty and you can take a picnic out to a scenic green and have a candlelit dinner. Then, if you're far enough from the city, lay back on the blanket and enjoy the stars! (ahem) Happy anniversary and good luck! "Trust Life's unfolding..."

we used to golf, pre-kids. He was nearly a scratch player, I had mulligan-itis. A picnic dinner would be a great leveler of the playing field (or greens), I think. Thanks!
